Королевский замок на вершине скалы, у подножия которой когда-то колыхалось озеро нечистот, а ныне радует глаз зеленью обширный парк. Длинная улица, известная как Королевская миля и соединяющая замок с дворцом Холируд, обителью Марии Стюарт. Принсес-стрит с ее многочисленными магазинами. Роуз-стрит, которую иначе называют улицей пабов, вечно оживленная Грассмаркет, холм Кэлтон-Хилл с памятником Нельсону, обсерваторией и «северным Парфеноном» — колоннадой в честь побед герцога Веллингтона… Все это Эдинбург, столица Шотландии и настоящий город-памятник, словно застывший во времени и все же удивительно живой и всегда прекрасный — в типичную шотландскую морось и, конечно, в лучах солнца. Это город, в который нельзя не влюбиться.
